A complete engine reconditioning of a four-cylinder passenger car engine typically costs 15 000-35 000 SEK excl. VAT. Individual machining jobs cost considerably less: cylinder boring from 1 204 SEK per block, cylinder head resurfacing from 1 330 SEK and crankshaft grinding from 1 470 SEK. On this page you find guide prices for our most common machining jobs, operation by operation.

The prices are guide prices for labour and are based on an hourly rate of 1 400 SEK excl. VAT. Parts are extra. Every engine is unique, so you get the exact price in a quote after inspection. Get a quote here. We provide 12-month warranty on all reconditioning work.

What does cylinder boring cost?

Cylinder boring costs from 1 204 SEK excl. VAT for a single-cylinder engine. A four-cylinder inline block with 50-100 mm bore costs 3 318 SEK to bore, and American V8 blocks have a fixed price of 4 200 SEK regardless of bore size. What does resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing a four-cylinder cylinder head costs from 1 330 SEK excl. VAT and resurfacing a four-cylinder engine block from 1 988 SEK. What does it cost to recondition a cylinder head?

A complete reconditioning of a four-cylinder 16-valve head normally costs 3 000-5 000 SEK excl. VAT. What does cylinder head pressure testing cost?

Pressure testing a smaller four-cylinder head costs 1 876 SEK excl. VAT. Larger heads, for example diesel and industrial engines, cost from 2 800 SEK. What does crankshaft grinding cost?

Crankshaft grinding costs from 1 470 SEK excl. VAT. The price depends on the number of main and rod journals to be ground, so the prices below are from-prices. A crankshaft with four rod journals, as in a typical four-cylinder engine, costs from 1 918 SEK. Cleaning, pre-inspection and polishing are extra. What does connecting rod reconditioning cost?

A full reconditioning of four connecting rods costs 3 164 SEK excl. VAT at 30-65 mm bearing diameter. Replacing small-end bushes with gudgeon pin fitting costs 2 240 SEK for four rods. What does balancing cost?

Dynamic balancing of a complete rotating assembly for an inline four-cylinder engine costs 3 742 SEK excl. VAT, including crankshaft, pulleys, flywheel and clutch. What does turbo reconditioning cost?

Reconditioning a turbocharger costs from 4 500 SEK excl. VAT, with new bearings, seals and balancing of the turbine wheel. That is usually far cheaper than a new original turbo at 15 000-40 000 SEK.
