Our machine shop
Meksta has a complete machine shop for engine reconditioning and engine machining. Everything under one roof means we do not have to send your parts out of house - shorter turnaround and full control at every step.
Under one roof
Many workshops send work out to subcontractors. At Meksta all the equipment is in-house - from cylinder boring and crankshaft reconditioning to cam grinding, cylinder head resurfacing and welding. That gives us full control over quality and a shorter time from start to delivery.

Cylinder boring machine - Berco ACP 151
Bores cylinders with high precision. The Berco ACP 151 handles cylinder blocks from passenger cars to heavy engines. The cylinders are bored to an exact oversize with controlled tolerances. The machine is central to our cylinder boring.
- Block sizes up to V8 and diesel
- Tolerance within hundredths of a millimetre
- Automatic feed

Honing machine - Sunnen CK10
Hones motorcycle and moped cylinders to final size and the right surface finish after boring. It creates the cross-hatch surface needed for a proper oil film and piston ring bedding-in. Honing is the final step in our cylinder boring process.
- Motorcycle and moped cylinders
- Controlled surface finish
- Multi-stage honing process

Camshaft grinder
Grinds and reprofiles camshafts. We can recondition worn camshafts back to original specification or create entirely new lobe profiles for a changed engine character. Read more about our cam grinding.
- Regrinding and reprofiling
- Micron precision on every lobe
- Bearing journal machining

CNC lathe
A programmed lathe for manufacturing and machining engine components. Used for custom parts, bushings, spacers and other precision components.
- Programmed machining
- High repeatability
- Custom-made parts

Schenck balancing machine
A German balancing machine that measures the imbalance of the crankshaft in two planes at once. We remove or add material until the shaft rotates evenly, which means less vibration and a longer life for bearings and seals. The machine is used for our crankshaft balancing.
- Dynamic balancing in two planes
- Crankshafts from 4-cylinder to V8
- Accurate and repeatable results

Surfacing machine
Surfaces cylinder heads and cylinder blocks to restore flatness. A warped gasket face leads to gasket leaks. We machine to factory specification. The machine is used for cylinder head resurfacing and as part of our cylinder head reconditioning.
- Flatness checked with a dial gauge
- Aluminium and cast iron
- Cylinder heads and blocks

Mira cutter - valve seat machining
Cuts valve seats to an exact angle and concentricity. The right seat geometry gives better sealing, better flow and more even compression between cylinders. One of the most important steps in a cylinder head reconditioning.
- Multi-angle machining
- Perfect concentricity
- Improved flow and sealing

Valve grinding machine
Grinds valve faces and valve stems to give an even seating surface. Ground valves give good sealing and even compression. Part of our cylinder head reconditioning.
- Face and stem grinding
- Controlled surface finish
- All valve sizes

Pressure testing machine
Checks cylinder heads and blocks for cracks by pressure testing. The part is put under pressure in hot water - air bubbles reveal cracks that are invisible to the naked eye. Read more about pressure testing.
- Finds hidden cracks
- Check before reconditioning begins
- Cylinder heads and blocks

Hydraulic press
Used for fitting and removing bearings, bushings, cylinder liners and other press-fit components. Controlled force without damaging surrounding parts.
- Controlled force
- Bearing and bushing replacement
- Cylinder liner replacement

TIG welder
TIG welding for repairing aluminium cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds and other engine components. TIG gives a clean, controlled weld with no spatter - crucial for cylinder head reconditioning and other machined parts.
- Aluminium and steel
- Cylinder head crack repair
- Manifold repair
Why an in-house machine shop matters
Shorter turnaround
No waiting on subcontractors. We machine your parts directly in our own workshop.
Full control
Full control under one roof.
Better price
No markups from subcontractors. You pay for the work - not for the middleman.
