Our expertise and method

We carry out every kind of camshaft work, from simple reconditioning of worn bearing surfaces to full reprofiling with custom profiles. The work is done on our own camshaft grinder, which gives us full control over tolerances and surface finish.

Regrinding of worn camshafts

Worn lobes and bearing surfaces are reground to factory specification. We measure every lobe to micrometer precision.

Reprofiling - new profile

Give the engine more lift, longer duration or an asymmetric profile. Proven or custom profiles based on your goals.

Lobe modifications

Smaller modifications such as ramp adjustment or a change in lift height for a noticeable difference in engine character.

Durometer testing & hardening

We test the hardness of the material with a durometer. If the material is not hard enough, we send the camshafts out for hardening after grinding.

Camshafts from a billet

For engines where the original shaft is missing or cannot be saved, we can grind a new camshaft from a billet to any profile. See our ready-made profiles in the shop or request a custom grind.

Our own camshaft grinder

We have our own camshaft grinding machine in the workshop, which means we do not have to send your parts away. That gives shorter lead times and full control from start to finish.

We inspect the camshaft visually and measure every lobe with a micrometer. Wear, cracks and other deviations are documented.

Profile & specification

Profile & specification

We discuss the profile you want - original, modified or entirely new - and set the specification for lift, duration and ramp angle.

Grinding

Grinding

The camshaft is ground on our dedicated camshaft grinder. Every lobe is check-measured during the process to verify the correct profile.

Inspection & delivery

Inspection & delivery

A final measurement of all lobes and bearing surfaces. You get a measurement report and we ship the camshaft back well packed.

Frequently asked questions about camshaft grinding

Reprofiling means we change the lobe shape of the camshaft to give different valve timing, lift or duration. It can be done to suit a different engine character, for example more power high in the rev range or better torque down low.
